SCHOOL OF ROCK

I was the SDCF Directing Observer on Broadway's School of Rockwith music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, book by Julian Fellowes, and direction by Laurence Connor. 

HAMLETGHOSTS

After its run at HERE Arts Center in August, HamletGhosts traveled to the Rochester Fringe Festival for three performances September 25th-26th. 

SWIPE RIGHT/SWIPE LEFT

Hannah Kloepfer and Tessa Slovis' cabaret show Swipe Right/Swipe Left was part of a developmental lab at 54 Below, culminating in a half-hour set on September 24th. See here for more info.

I performed in (and helped devise) Cody Haefner's HamletGhosts at HERE Arts Center in early August. 

GAYROPA

I directed a staged workshop of an original ensemble-devised play, Gayropain Dixon Place's HOT! Festival on July 8th.

WHEN I HAVE CANCER IN 30 YEARS

When I Have Cancer in 30 Years, an original solo play directed by me and written/performed by Lorenzo Landini, performed July 23rd and 24th at Ryan's Daughter on the UES. 


MAY 2015

THE GENERATOR

I directed a reading of the new play The Generator by Leigh Flayton at Cherry Lane Theatre on May 5th. More info here!

SACRILEGIOUS  

I served as assistant director on a reading of the new play Sacrilegious, written by Tom Schulman (Academy Award winner, Dead Poets Society) and starring Reed Birney, Rob McClure, and Alexis Bledel. Directed by Andy Sandberg. 

THE WILL

I assisted Andy Sandberg again in late May, on a reading of Jim Fuld's playThe Will.


APRIL 2015

DISAPPEARANCE

In late April, I filmed the song "Disappearance" from the musical Red Shift, staged in 2014. Conceived by me, composed by Solomon Hoffman, and with lyrics/book by Nick Parker, Red Shift was a loose adaptation of the novel The Time Traveler's Wife (reimagined as a planetarium show about time travel). Cast for the filming included Kyra Atekwana, Devin Lloyd, and Rebecca Farley, with Gus Reed as cinematographer. 

MARCH 2015 

Swipe Right/Swipe Left played its first performance at the Duplex Theatre. 

FEBRUARY 2015

Application Pending, starring Christina Bianco (w/ me as assistant director), opened at the Westside Theatre. "Must we trot out the phrase 'tour de force'? Yes, we must." - The New York Times 

I also assistant directed two readings in February: 

Wonderful by John Olson and Craig Ricks (dir. Andy Sandberg, starring Judith Light, Will Swenson, and Carla Gugino)

The Dodgers by Diana Amsterdam (dir. Dave Solomon, starring Billy Magnussen and Finn Wittrock).
